3.5 Million Motorbikes in Ho Chi Minh City
The streets are jam packed with a moving sea of motorbikes.
Crossing the roads is very difficult at the best of times. The best way to cross the road in Ho Chi Minh City is slowly and consistently, they will avoid you and go around, as long as you dont make any sudden movements or quicky change direction you will be fine.
They ride constantly beeping their horns as they overtake or go past.
In Vietnam the Vietnamese drive on the right side of the road, like they do in the US, which also adds to the confusion for foreigners.
As many as 5 or more people sometimes squeeze onto the scooter and they carry all sorts of things on them, even babies without helmets can be seen on the front or in between parents on these motorbikes. Something unthinkable in the western world and probably illegal.
