    Have you had an abortion?

    I was wrong!

March 15, 1979 I made the "Choice" to end my unborn baby's life. The doctor nor his staff gave me any counseling about my "Choice" or what options there were to abortion, nor did they tell me what I could expect to take place. I was led into a room where the suction abortion took place, and told to undress and put on a paper garment, and told to lay on a table. The doctor and a nurse came in and performed the proceedure without discussing anything with me. It was very painful and I was not given anything to help with this pain. After the doctor was done, he just left the room. The nurse told me to get dressed and go to the front desk to check out. For the following 2 weeks I hemoraged, and got very ill. I went back to the abortion clinic and was told that I had been further along than suspected, and what I had experienced was known as an incomplete abortion. Without any pain meds or counseling, once again the doctor came in and performed another suction abortion, this time removing what was left of the baby. The cruel nurse told me that it was a boy, and he had dark hair. She also told me that the first abortion had ripped his little legs off, and he was in there, fighting for his life! She was very heartless and the tone in her voice was cruel and hateful. I was told to get dressed and leave the clinic. I was not allowed to wait in the waiting room for my ride to pick me up. I was crying, and the staff member told me that I was upsetting others who were there to have an abortion, and I needed to leave. I sat outside on the curb, in the freezing rain, waiting for my ride. The doctor never gave me any medication for the pain or infection, he just performed the proceedure and moved on to the next victom. Nearly 34 years later I am still feeling the pain and regret from that "Choice." I was WRONG!
