    Winter Blizzard in NYC

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     ANO07 photographed New York City from the Hudson River in Jersey City on the evening of February 8. 'It wasn't very cold until I hit the waterfront. That's where the wind became very strong, making the snowflakes hit your face like a million ice needles,' she said. 'In no time my glasses got wet, covered with drops of water. I found it very hard to focus the camera, since I couldn't see much anymore.'

    This afternoon I went outside to take a few images of the snow. What I found was snow and wind. Darkness set pretty quickly and so did the snow on my glasses. Snow was wet, yet on my face it felt like icy needles. NYC showed itself across the river, like a phantom city coming to live. Its buildings, dark shadows against the foggy, gray sky. On the streets, lonesome people hurried home, shopping bags in hand. On the waterfront, the layer of snow got thicker and thicker, in no time. I returned home completely wet, from gloves to hood to camera body.
