Chinese New Year in the Philippines

Binondo is an enclave in Manila primarily populated by ethnic Chinese living in the Philippines. It is the oldest Chinatown in the world, established in 1594. More than 1,000 local and foreign tourists welcomed the Year of the Snake by taking part in New Year parades in Binondo, Manila this weekend. People enjoyed the colorful dragon dance in the difference parts of the streets. Everyone was treated with glutinous tikoy/rice cakes which were available in different sizes, falvors and prices. Hundreds of vendors sold all sorts of decorations, charms, fruits, crops, and delicacies that believed to bring luck and good fortunes.
