Chinese New Year in Manila 2013

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Architect GGOrbeta captured these stunning images of Chinese New Year in Binondo (Chinatown) in Manila, the Philippines. "Philippine history and Filipinos are also immersed in Chinese culture, so Chinese New Year is a highly anticipated event," he said. "Many people follow feng shui rituals and display lucky charms and fruits in their homes and offices to bring good luck for the year."

This iReport was featured in the February iReport for CNN program on CNN International.

Trinkets, lucky charms, balloons, food, free energy drinks, TV network vans, photographers, jugglers, firebreathers and oh yes the dragon dancers, firecrackers, more lucky charms and did I mention a wedding too? Everyone seems to be in Binondo (Manila's Chinatown) to take part in the festivities.
