The war through your eyes: Iraq 10 years on

    CNN's Prewar stories

I remember seeing the polls coming in on CNN where the American public was against the invasion. I also remember the backdrops one network produced with stars and bars in red, white and blue with a broad-shouldered reporter (was that Lester Holt?) exhorting the rationale for the invasion. The background got more bold and the music got louder as the polls came in rejecting the invasion. You already have the footage of this I am sure.
Go through the prewar coverage and tell us who decided to put the music and the stars and bars background behind the broad shouldered "reporters" selling a war to the American public.

Any review of the war should include a thorough assessment of the role of American media in influencing public opinion. To quote Jessica Yellin: "They would turn down stories that were more critical and try to put on pieces that were more positive" Well "positive" might have turned out OK for some big corporate interests, but not so much for taxpayers, soldiers, and Iraqis.
