Northeast blizzard: Your stories |
Snowed in after Blizzard 2013
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer
Days after 40 inches of snow fell in Hamden, CT, I ventured out (by foot) with my brother, Eunes Harun, to see the condition of the roads.
The snow is leg deep in the middle of my street, the closest major road is also untouched. There are no tire tracks, and the only footprints within two blocks are my family's.
About two blocks away we found three cars stuck in the middle of the street because they tried to drive on the unplowed roads.
Some people shoveled their driveways, but they can't leave the edge of their driveway.
We walked one mile without seeing any pavement.
