Pretty but dangerous Mexico
Theft, rapes, murders and corrupt police fill out the rest of the scenario. It seems to me that travel is no longer what it once used to be. Crowds, expensive, viruses, rampant crime and poor service seem to make on e just want to stay at home.
We love Cabo's whales and vistas. But as with all things, you are on your own in a third world country if you get banged up abroad or are the victim of a crime.
MEXICO: travel at your peril. We will never return.
And the details of this trip are best left off the official record book, except that it is a pretty country in many ways. As with all things, life is a series of moments of utter beauty followed by moments of sheer terror and horror. It has always been so.
I feel sorry for those Spanish tourists (6) who were raped in Acapulco this week. Mexico will have to lose its tourism in order to gain some credibility.
