    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     London based iReporter sanchita loved the contrast between London's grey skies and the bright lanterns strung up for Chinese lunar new year on Sunday, so captured the moment. "The weather was so grey but everyone at the celebrations was in a real celebratory mood," she said. "No-one cared about the rain and the umbrellas we had to use."

    View of Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square, London through all the lanterns hung all around the square. Celebrations took place all afternoon on the stage set up at the base of Nelson's column. Although it rained constantly all through the day, throngs of people came to participate and celebrate the Chinese New Year!
