    The whole ordel smells fishy

    It seems the whole Catholic community is caught off-guard from local to very top level. If it is something that the Pople has considered and planned for, there is no reason that even the spoksperson feels "surprised" by this, and it seems all local cardinals are either not notified or are given a very short notice, so much so that even they express surprise over the announcement. I am no big fan of Dan Brown, but this ordeal does fit "Dan Brown style" scenario.
