    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     redcoogs spent six weeks in Hawaii working with her Army reserve unit. She had just returned from a year in Iraq, and she shot video of the soldiers renovating a museum in Waikiki. On her day off, she went snorkeling with a group of friends in Hanauma Bay. "The shape of the beach, the abundance of reef, reef fish and turtles really stood out," she says. "You can swim in fairly shallow waters and see amazing species."

    Hanauma Bay is one of the best spots to go snorkleing in the island of Oahu. The cresent shaped beach is formed from a volcanic cone. You can see amazing reef fish really close and eel, and sometimes, if you're lucky a sea turtle.
