A decision I will never regret
Seventeen years ago a condom broke, emergency contraception didn't work and I peed on a stick and saw a plus sign. I knew immediately that I didn't want to be pregnant and didn't want to raise a child with someone I barely knew. And he felt the same. I had an abortion. It was fine. I looked at the sonogram and at 8 weeks gestation, there really wasn't much to see. The procedure was quick and the pain wasn't too bad & lasted less time than menstrual cramps. I have never felt any regret over my decision, just gratitude that I was able to get an abortion when I needed it & that is was safe, clean, legal and accessible to me. Because of my abortion, I was able to graduate from college and eventually law school. Because of my abortion, I have been able to be a strong advocate for women. Because of my abortion, I am happy & healthy and living life to the fullest with no regrets, no looking back. There is no shame in abortion. I am a good person and good women have abortions.
