Catholics: Your views on new pope

    Thank-you, Holy Father Benedict

Benedict XVI has been a great friend and guide for so many ----not just for those in his immediate flock, but for many millions of people throughout our world. I am personally thankful for his bold invitation to Anglicans through ANGLICANORUM CAETIBUS, which gave those of us coming from the Anglican tradition a warm welcome toward unity with the Holy See. This servant of the Lord (and to God's Church) was instrumental, also, in the development of our New Daily Roman Missal, and in support of traditional expressions in our worship. His many books and other writings are thoughtful offerings of hope to the faithful.
Beyond all this, he is a kind and gracious shepherd, never in search of the great credit he deserves (over so many years of service to our Lord), but, as a true gentleman, offering that spotlight to so many others.
May our Lord continue to bless Joseph Ratzinger, Pope Benedict XVI.
