I was 23 when I discovered I was pregnant. I was not married and did not want to marry the father, nor was I ready to responsibly raise a child on my own. I'm so grateful that I had access to a safe and legal abortion, at Planned Parenthood in Salt Lake City in 1981. While it was no picnic I have never regretted my decision. I have since raised a wonderful daughter, and I contribute to many organizations to ensure that a woman's right to control her own reproduction remains intact.
