Story of a Black Woman
I had two abortions at ages 17 and 18 at an abortion clinic in Pittsburgh, PA. Like A.I.D.S, abortion is not discussed in the black community. Till this day my family doesn't know my aborted children are missing from our family true. I credit God for loving showing the error of those judgements and planting me in the pro-life movement of "40 Days for Life," even if that meants I'm the only or in the few of black faces there.
Everytime I see interracial children I'm reminded of my son and daughter and they way they left this world. Aborting my children in my biggest regret, admitting that is my greatest blessing.
Though many don't know I'm a mother....I celebrate Mother's Day, just not in May, but on January 22nd, since that's the day I had a memorial service for them and became a mother who grieved her children.
