    The Matterhorn

    My 76 year old grandmother flew to Europe in the spring of 2011 to visit me at the end of my semester abroad. As part of her trip, we travelled to Zermatt, Switzerland in the hopes of seeing the Matterhorn. We were only there for a few days, and for most of the time barely caught a glimpse or two of the mountain's slope. Finally, on our last morning, we awoke to a completely clear sky, and from the streets of the small town saw the Matterhorn towering over us. To say it was impressive is an understatement, and I'm still so grateful that the clouds cleared and it was an experience she and I could share together.
