Beautiful Creatures Film Review Cherry @themovies
I saw the new fantasy drama Beautiful Creatures coming out Valentines Day. I thought the film was visually .... well beautiful but despite the great cast its an empty tween flick that had an interesting premise but the script couldn't hold my attention. I haven't read the novels so am unsure if they were trying to stay true to a popular series but as an introduction to a (hoped) beloved series ala Twilight or Harry Potter that brings on new fans I don't believe this is the blockbuster that Warner Bros ordered. I'm not saying its awful just a bland high school film that doesn't have enough dreamy fantasy drama that will hold your interest. So I give it a C because of the cast who did their best with a blah script, a gorgeous set and pretty people.
Beautiful Creatures - A supernatural love story set in the South which tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan, a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena, a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town. The film is based on the first novel in the best-selling series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
