In my opinion, the finest beach in southern California. Well worth the hassle of trying to find a parking spot and battling the traffic into and out of La Jolla. Some of the most relaxing days I have ever experienced has been along La Jolla Shores. The beach is so desirable that on nice days, I would be so tempted to ditch my college classes at nearby UCSD and hit the Shores.

Those inclined should stay at one of the nice hotels along La Jolla Shores. There are also places nearby that rent kayaks, boats, scuba gear and surfboards. Late in the summer, the leopard sharks hang out offshore and if you time it right, it is possible to spend a morning literally swimming with the (harmless) sharks!
