    Ash Wednesday 2013 at Holy Name of Jesus Church (HNJ)

     

    ...on a biographical footnote.

     

    That is the biggest, most clearly drawn [ashes] Cross I have ever had drawn on my forehead and the biggest I have seen -- ever!

     

    What am I supposed to make of it.

     

    The priest was in civilian clothes, perhaps 80 years old...and very deliberate. He spoke slowly and profoundly and uttered the solemn words while dispensing the ashes.
