Carnival Triumph’s nightmare |
Turned Away the Sick
"I had a severe peanut allergy attack yesterday and when I was at the medical center (around 9 am) they told all the sick ppl they were closing so everyone behind me had to come back at 3 pm -- even though they were really sick!"
On a later phone conversation today she explained that she was exposed to peanuts due to contaminated handrails and other surfaces on the ship. Passengers were fed peanut butter sandwiches yesterday which led to contaminating the living areas with peanut residue. There are signs medical mismanagement on the ship compounded with the lack of sufficient sanitary systems making the ship ripe for infectious diseases. We can expect a lot more follow up stories of sick passengers in the coming days. Thankfully, my wife was able to get antihestamines from other passengers later in the day. Despite the stories of aggression and tension between passengers there is a lot of solidarity felt amoung the passengers.
