    Have you had an abortion?

    Childless by Choice

I was 33. My husband and I had been married a little over a year when I got pregnant, despite rigorous adherence to a birth control plan. Neither of us had ever been married before, and neither of us wanted children.

The decision to have an abortion was mutual and easy. Motherhood was never my dream or desire, and it still isn't.

I could use the rest of my 7600 remaining characters to defend my decision and define "what having an abortion means to me", but I'm not going to do that.

I'm going to just say that having an abortion, for me and for my husband, was the best choice. Call us selfish, but we are thankful on a daily basis for the decision we made.
