Meteor that hit Russia crossed the Brazilian sky on Thursday
According to the Laboratory of Analysis and Processing of Satellite Images of the Federal University of Alagoas (Lapis), where the station that received the image, a light beam with the approaching meteor was captured at 17:20 (GMT) crossing the border between the states of Mato Grosso and Tocantins.
For the meteorologist and coordinator of Lapis, Humberto Barbosa, the image makes it clear that the meteor passed the country before arriving in Russia and explode. "The satellite detected the meteor actually in Brazil. No way to say whether he was at that time about Brazil or even approaching. But it was seen from a satellite that is 36,000 kilometers, the South Side, where Brazil this located, "he explained.
