Have you had an abortion? |

THE WOMAN
a woman's tears hit the floor
unsure of what she's done, but knowing a piece of her heart is now gone
she cries out on the inside, so she grabs the nearest outside anesthetic
the numbness is short-lived, and the ache is everlasting
a forgotten name and destiny before it ever existed
another unknown face and smile gone before it comes
the tragedy of the murdered unborn
no dignity granted, and no apologies given
heaven has another baby, earth has another broken heart
she lives her life wandering, unsure of why she's hiding
finding joy in other things, yet always feeling incomplete
the deep wound lies hidden, drowned out by the busyness of life
a mother by destiny, a runner by choice
if only hope had found her first, her story would have a very different ending
all chance of reason was silenced, the unknown overcame her
where was her rescuer, the one who'd speak the truth?
God tries to touch her, but her walls are so thick
she sometimes tries to pray, but her unworthiness screams louder
the shame overcomes her, and the religious confirm it
the guilt is unbearable, and the death fills her soul daily
the sting so unbearable, she curses the stars
a missing child in her life, it'll never feel the same
mistake so easily made, yet weighs so heavily now, and forever
the tears burn her face, over and over again
a pain that no one else could imagine- the ultimate betrayal
a woman against her own creation and unborn
a womb blessed to be opened
and then cursed to be forced closed
she hits her knees and cries out for forgiveness
a loving Father touches her maimed heart, and like a wind
blows her guilt and shame away forever
He places a seal on her arm, that proclaims her righteousness
she becomes a different kind of runner now
one who wears her pain and brokenness for the others to see
she screams out like a siren, demanding heads to be lifted
delivering a firm warning, but buried in a message of hope, truth, and love- His love
who will cry out for the voiceless, give words to the silent young ones
who in this land carries justice in their hearts, and truth in their mouths?
a decree from God Himself, to save the oppressed, and heal the broken-hearted
we need more life, and less death
the woman, no name needed
this is her story, there are so many more like her
their scars need healing, and their wounds need binding
this is what Jesus would do. how will i respond to her, and to myself?
a forgotten name and destiny before it ever existed
another unknown face and smile gone before it comes
the tragedy of the murdered unborn
no dignity granted, and no apologies given
this is the woman's story.
