    The Beauty in Bagram

    Just a month and a half before this shot, I was hanging out with my friends and family in the sunny suburbs of Los Angeles. I arrived in Bagram Air Field just before Thanksgiving not knowing what to expect. Being away from my family for the first time during the holidays was difficult, but it's the beauty that can be found in snow storms like this that make the experience away from home memorable.

     

    The scene depicts a view from my B-Hut, which is essentially a 20'x30' wooden structure that houses 7 of my teammates, including myself.  I woke up at 5 am to use the restroom, but ran back in to grab my camera and capture this beautiful scene.
