    Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge 2013


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     HibMN attended the Polar Bear Plunge event, a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Minnesota in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 16. She says the event was sponsored by several businesses in the area, and hundreds of people came out for the event, raising more than two hundred thousand dollars. She says people dressed up in colorful costumes for the event. 'When I saw them jumping into the icy waters, I thought to myself, "brave people,"' she said.

    Over a thousand people participated for this Special Olympics event today in Canal Park


    This is the 13th annual Polar Bear Plunge . Last year they raised over $167,000 and this year they are hoping to raise over $200,000
