More than 40,000 protest against Keystone XL and Fracking at Forward on Climate
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
It was a cold, very cold, February Sunday in Washington DC but despite the weather more than 40,000 showed up at the foot of the Washington Memorial to protest against the Keystone XL pipeline and fracking among other climate related issues. This protest, organized by the Sierra Club, is claimed to be the largest climate related protest in DC with the aim to urge President Obama to take action on a diverse set of climate related issues. The Keystone pipeline was though certainly at the heart of the event.
