    Time to Leave

    In the beginning of October it was finally time to leave Iraq after approximately 7, 5 years. The feeling was surreal but it was great. I always try to remember that moment.
    Here Cpt. Sanforson and Col. Jones with me before we say goodbye and split up. And as I leave them and get in the Black Hawk (seen in the background)- I see them disappear in the dust caused by the powerful engines and I think about how they must stay in this dusty killing zone for another period of time. They were being left in the midst of the dust and the smoke as I rose to the sky, safe in the wings of the Black Hawk.
