Gainsaying statement to baseless reports regarding Chhatrashibir published in different media Some mass media are trying to hide barbarism of RAB and the Police Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir strongly slated and passed a gainsaying statement to fabricated and baseless reports regarding Chhatrashibir aired in some mass media, namely the Daily Amader Somoi, Sangbad and Amader Orthoniti etc. In a joint gainsaying statement, the Central President of Chhatrashibir Md. Delwar Hussen and the Secretary-Gener al thereof Md. Abdul Jabbar said, “Some mass media seem to be strategically trying to hide barbarism of RAB and Police personnel over today’s Awami government regime. They only exposed their biased stance before the nation by publishing such untrue reports. We strongly condemn and protest against such roles of the mass media.” Shibir leaders said, “A fabricated report headlined ‘Shibir may make secret attacks’ was published in the Daily Amader Somoi and another one headlined ‘Jamaat-Shibir in the uniform of RAB-Police to commit enforced disappearance, murder and vandalism’ was aired in the Daily Amader Orthoniti. These two reports are nothing but some odd fantasies and the contents of the reports are but humorous. Another biased and untrue report headlined ‘Two cops died and six hundred more got injured due to attacks of Shibir in three months and a half’ was also published in the Daily Sangbad. We’d like to say with the fullest conviction that none can prove even a single death incident of a cop by any Shibir man. Rather, as many as 15 leaders as well as activists of Shibir died due to barbaric attacks of cops on the peaceful programs of Shibir. Over a hundred injured Shibir men are still at the point of death.” The leaders urged the concerned media and media men to refrain from publishing such false and fabricated reports in future.
