    Salute to troops

    Corp Hayley Nine-US Army

My daughter entered the US Army at the ripe young age of 17 years old. She called me from school one day and said, DAD the recruiter is here and I can sign up, PLEASE CAN I. Without any regret at all, I gave her my blessing and told her to bring the papers home for me to sign. Once they were signed, she went thru all her pre-screening processes and before she knew it, she was heading down to Miami to take her oath to defend the constitution of the United States Of America. She left after her junior year of high school for basic training, then came home and did her senior year of high school, then left again after she graduated for her job training. She was gone once again all summer long like the prior year. When she returned, she went to college on a FULL RIDE SOFTBALL SCHOLARSHIP for 2 years in Palm Beach. After her college was done, she requested to her Sgt that she wanted to go to Afghanistan and serve her country. Again, I was shocked but again, I supported her decision and that is where she is currently as we speak. Ever since she was 7 years old, my daughter has always known her direction. It was 2 things she wanted, to be a soldier like my father was, He was a Col. in The US Army for 47 years. And her second goal is to be a Deputy Sheriff in Palm Beach County. She currently will be going to the police academy when she returns from Afghanistan in June of this year, and then will actually become a Deputy Sheriff.
