    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mtg176 says he went out in the morning and saw icicles on his carport after sleet came down. He was surprised by the mix of storm activity. 'I've seen thundersnow before, but I don't think I've ever seen thunder and lightning with the amount of sleet that was coming down today.' This photo is a color image, but the contrast between the structure and the very-white sky gives it a black-and-white feel.

    In Springfield, Missouri, we are receiving a serious ice/sleet storm that has been accompanied by sharp lighting and loud booming thunder.
