    Tasty Soda Cake

Soda can be used to make fluffy and moist cake recipes. One of the simplest ways to make soda cake is to add a can of soda to one box of cake mix, preferably yellow or moist-style cake. All you need to do is combine the ingredients in a bowl, whisk the mix thoroughly until you get a smooth batter. Coat the baking pan with oil or spray with a nonstick spray and transfer the cake batter to the baking pan. Bake the cake in the oven referring to the cake-mix package instructions on the approximate duration of baking. You know that the cake is ready if a knife or fork inserted into the center comes out clean.

You can add soda to almost any basic boxed cake mix of any flavor. You don’t need to add oil, water or eggs as it says in the package instructions. All these additional ingredients can be substituted with one can of soda. You can reduce the fat of the cake by using diet soda. Use diet cream soda for a creamy flavor or vanilla soda for a vanilla flavor. Use your favorite soda flavor to make an interesting tasting cake. Strawberry soft drink combined with vanilla cake mix and vanilla pudding can result in a delicious strawberry soda flavored cake. Other possibly exciting combinations include black cherry soft drink and chocolate cake mix for a chocolate cherry soda cake. Another delicious combination is orange soft drink and vanilla cake mix for a Creamsicle soda cake flavor. For light cakes, it is best to use light-colored soda or citrus soda. For chocolate or rich cakes, you can use colas like Coke, Pepsi or Dr. Pepper. Bake the soda cake according to the size of pan and duration of time indicated on the box’s instructions.
