    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     The picture of my daughter, Kara was taken at our home in Killen, Alabama the day she returned from Afganistan in October 2012. Her daughter wouldn't let her out of her sight.

    I have 2 children in the military. Sgt Devin Ewing and Specialist Kara Gunter. Kara came home in October of 2012 after serving 1 year in Afghanistan. When she left her daughter Lyzzie was 2yrs old and when she came home Lyzzie was 3. Devin is currently serving overseas. He has a beautiful wife and two sons. We are so proud of both of you. We all miss you and think of you everyday. I love you. MOM
