Catholics: Your views on new pope

    Cafeteria Catholics in the U.S.

Being a Catholic in the United States reminds me of a cafeteria. We pick and choose what we practice. When public opion says that the church is out of touch with its people, many agree. Unfortunetately, the church is suffering publicly due to all the secrets it has kept in the vaults of minds and souls. No person, organized religion, or corporation is perfect. However, when you portrait yoursel fas infallable any and all of your mistakes are magnified. The Catholic Church needs to account for its mistakes, misjudgements, and cover ups. People forgive when honesty is in the forefront. Continue to deny and cover up and people loose faith and leave the church. If you don't think so, attend mass this Sunday and take a good look around at all the empty pews.
