Scary "Winter” Accident in Honolulu, Hawaii
Today we encountered a turbulent “winter” weather in Honolulu with heavy rainstorms and high winds. Now the storm is moving slowly down the Island chain to Maui and to the Big Island of Hawaii. But the rain caused very hazardous conditions on the roads in Honolulu as well. Just before 8 PM tonight, February 23 2013, I heard a horrific crash sound as I visited friends on the corner of Kapiolani Blvd and University Avenue. We all rushed outside and we could not believe our eyes as we saw a huge column of water rising ca three stories high. No words yet about the condition of the driver or passengers of the car which slammed into a fire hydrant. But some of the invlved was taken away with an ambulance. Thank You: PuakeaJutka
