United States Holocaust Memorial Museum 20th Anniversary National Tour Los Angeles

Los Angeles -- The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) National Tour continued last Sunday at the Skirball Cultural Center. Holocaust survivors and war veterans came from around the area to attend the all day event, which also featured a special ceremony which honors them. Speakers included KCRW To The Point host Warren Olney, Director of the Justice Department's Office of Special Investigations Eli Rosenbaum. Special Guest was actress Camryn Manheim and the host of the event was broadcast journalist Forrest Sawyer.

This was the second event in the 20th Anniversary National Tour for the USHMM; the last event being in Boca Raton, Florida. All of the events included stations to learn more from the Holocaust survivors. The goal of the USHMM is "Never Again." A phrase used to ensure that nothing like the Holocaust ever happens again.

The closing ceremony included a presentation of the flags of the US Army liberating divisions. After the speakers spoke there was a pin ceremony where children from nearby schools pinned a Holocaust survivor or War veteran pin to the corresponding persons during a very moving ceremony.

The next event on the tour will take place in New York on March 3rd and in Chicago on June 9th.
