Unexpected beauty in Vieques
Returning from a week in Vieques and Puerto Rico I have to say ... I am glad this island located southeast of the main island was so empty, but it may not be for long.
Highlight of the journey was the amazing experience of the bioluminescent bay, where the glowing blue dinoflagellates swirl around you in the dark water. Empty pristine beaches thanks to the protected parkland , roaming wild horses, and the charm of Old San Juan made it a getaway vacation - but one still close to home and easily accessible.
