    24.02.2013 Consecutive day of protest

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Bulgarian iReporter siGmaManolov sent in these images of protesters in the eastern coastal town of Varna demonstrating against the nation's high energy bills. They were captured by his girlfriend, Veronica, who is a photographer. Several days ago the entire Bulgarian government resigned after days of protests over energy prices, which have since rapidly widened into general anger over economic austerity measures and corruption. The protests on Sunday were peaceful, but demonstrators are continuing to press their demands for more government accountability and for action to end energy company monopolies.
