    Amarillo Blizzard

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter Michael Jaison took this video at 10:30 a.m. (CST) at his home in Amarillo, Texas, today on February 25. He says that they feel well prepared for the blizzard; especially with the early weather warnings they've received, but that it's definitely one of the biggest winter storms he has experienced. "The blizzard is in full force at the moment with constant 40 mph winds and gusts even higher. Snow is mostly accumulating in large two to five foot drifts because of the intense wind," he says. "Most of the city of Amarillo is shut down and the streets are closed, and I feel that we will be home bound for several days. There's no signs of the storm slowing down."

This is the view from my front porch, just north of the Amarillo city limit. As you can see the blizzard is in full force and is creating some large snow drifts from 1-3 feet. The city is currently shut down except for essential personnel.
