Chiang Mai Celebrates Makha Bucha
The community of Chiang Mai, Thailand celebrated the Buddhist holiday of Mahka Bucha (Mon, 25 Feb 13).
Makha Bucha Day honors Buddha and his teachings.
It is also a day for doing good deeds.
In the evening, temples in Chiang Mai held candlelight processions, "wian tian," with monks and Thais holding flowers, incense and lighted candles, as they marched around phra ubosot (holy prayer hall).
