Banana Orange Juice
There’s nothing like freshly squeezed citrus fruit juice to give you boundless energy in the morning. Add bananas to a medley of orange, lemon and pineapple juice for a super nutritious and ultra delicious drink. While you can make this concoction with store-bought fruit juice, nothing beats fresh juice squeezed from fresh fruits.
Unlike oranges and lemons, you can’t squeeze bananas to get their juices out. Even if you use a food processor, you’ll end up getting mush not juice when you process bananas. To make bananas into juice, you need to heat them over low temperature together with the other juices so that they dissolve into one whole mixture. Egg whites are also added to the mix to give the juice texture and making it easier to slide down the throat. Add the egg whites after heating the bananas and juice mixture so that they do not coagulate and scramble. But you need to add them while the juice is still a bit warm so that it combines with the liquid completely.
There are many ways to juice lemons and oranges and the best way to get the most out of the fruit is to use a citrus juicer. There are manual juicers and there are electric juicers that allow you to get the most juice out of a single fruit and keep the bitter portion out. When juicing lemons and oranges, it is best to do so at room temperature since they will yield more liquid compared to fruits that have been chilled. If you microwave the fruit for 15 to 20 seconds before squeezing, you’ll be able to extract even more juice from it but you don’t want to heat it too much. Before squeezing the juice, roll the lemon or orange around the countertop a few times using your palm to release their juices and flavor. Combine it with your home cooking recipes now.
