Plainview Texas Digs Out After Blizzard

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JulieSwift told me, 'Things have cleared up now. The snow is starting to melt and the roads are improving. It's still very windy, though. Earlier, I got out to drive in all of this to go to campus for breakfast and lunch. Driving wasn't too bad the first time, around 9:15 this morning. The snow on the roads was still powdery and provided some traction. Later, it got bad. We've had large snowfalls in Denton the past three years. I lived there before I moved to Plainview. However, blizzards are almost unheard of in the metroplex. I've never experienced anything like this before!'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Students at Wayland Baptist University took advantage of their day off to enjoy the snow once the winds and snow subsided, building snowmen and igloos. Driving was difficult as more people got out on the roads, turning the powdery snow into a treacherous slush
