    Egypt Balloon Ride

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Florida resident johnnyb19 experienced his first and only hot air balloon ride in Luxor, Egypt in 2007 with his wife. He said that while he was surprised how many people were in the basket, he felt fairly safe as it had been designed to hold a large number of people. "I was saddened to hear of the deaths in Luxor, but since we took our ride in 2007 there must have been tens of thousands of safe flights," he said. "Air travel, whether in an airplane, helicopter or balloon has certain risks."

    My wife and I took the same balloon flight over the Luxor valley in the spring of 2007. We were amazed that there were a total of 26 people in our basket, including the pilot.
