Why President Obama is Good for America
From the perspective of this conservative, I wanted to try and find a positive in our liberal President. I’m always on the attack and I thought it a good idea to try and find something good.
Here is my take…
It is very simple. Democratic voice.
While I disagree with our President’s policies and agenda, I also realize how important it is for all Americans to have a voice in our process and government. This is what makes our nation great and provides us the vehicle to maintain some semblance of civilization.
Since the inception of our nation, our society has ebbed and flowed from right to left depending on the times. But a common theme has been that our Presidents have all been white males. Our policies circulated around Republican individualism and white democratic elitists buying power with minority votes.
President Obama represents the first instance in our history where minorities can see first-hand evidence that they are part of the system. This level of empowerment will in the long run help to bind all of us together for the common purpose of maintaining our Republic.
I have confidence that as we move through this period in our history, the age old distrusts that preceded this time will begin to fade and we will all be on the same basic path.
Power has the ability to induce critical thinking as it relates to ownership. As all Americans realize that we own this country, we will eventually also realize that we own the problems and need to manage them accordingly.
President Obama has been a tough pill to swallow for us Conservatives, but in the long run his Presidency will represent a turning point in our nation and end up being a good thing for all of us. At some point those that feel empowered by his election will begin to see that he is just a man and that his policies might lean a bit too left for the health of the nation. This is a learning experience for us.
If we can prevent our total demise from financial ruin, we will be stronger as we learn from the history we create. I hope.
