CNN PRODUCER NOTE Freelance photojournalist giolopez watched as about 70 people joined members of the Bad River Chippewa tribe in a drum circle in front of the Wisconsin Capitol to protest against mining. The state’s proposed open-pit iron mine would be built in the Penokee Hills, which is just upstream from the tribe’s reservation near Lake Superior. 'I had a chance to speak to two Bad River Chippewa tribe members and they seem very sad and concern for their family's future,' he said. Listen to audio from the drum circle here.
