Catholics: Your views on new pope |

The Church and the Pope
My opinion about Pope Benedict is as follows:
Pope Benedict has a past, that does not sit well with me and many others. His activity in the Nazi Jugend’s organization, although not voluntarily, I assume, must have left him with many really bad memories. His actions as a Nazi Youth is pretty clear. These, and probably other questionable activities in his life, must have weighed him down to the point that he did not feel having the right to be a Pope. I have looked at him many times, and he never looks “real”. His face, his body language, is very aloof, careful, as his smile is forceful. I almost feel sorry for the man. To resign as a Pope is unheard of. His inner turmoil must have forced him to this decision. Although he sought a life within the Church, it never healed him., because the Church is unforgiving and relentless in its Dogma.
The Catholic Church has many sins. The hundreds and hundreds of years this very rich and opulent Church,
“robbed” the poor, molested the children within church functions, which only now has come to light. Yes, this Church has many, many sins to account for.
I hope that the new Pope, whoever he is, will have at least some of the wonderful personality of Pope John Paul 2nd. God Bless the Church.
