Special Letter To First Lady Michelle Obama
As a CNN iReporter of Memphis and the youngest Shelby County Unified School Board Applicant in 2011 nominated to represent East Memphis I was so proud of the State of Mississippi especially the Claron Ledger for welcoming First Lady Michelle Obama to the Mid South.I extended a welcome letter/open invitation to the Office of the First Lady regarding her special visit to Clinton, Mississippi and after I extended this open letter my request to document Mrs. Obama in Mississippi was approved.I was so disappointed that I was not able to document portions of the Let's Move Campaign as a International Freelance Reporter but I was truly impacted today as a rising scholar in international affairs. It is a great honor to document the First Lady of the United States and to be in the midst of the most powerful woman in the United States.Today as Mrs. Obama spoke to the children of Clinton, Mississippi about becoming great leaders she taught me as a rising leader how to be a better journalist and public leader in the Mid South. It is a honor to be taught by our Mom in Chief of the United States and today was one of the most special days in my life because beyond the reporting I am honored to be taught by world leaders which is to me a blessing that few can pass down to their families and the world.
This letter will be featured on my CNN iReport Blog on Impact Your World.
Thanks Again
