Gun Control? Liberals are Wrong About Armed Guards In Schools

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Liberty1955 says it just makes sense to have armed guards at public schools. 'We have armed guards in front of many government facilities. Why not schools too? I don't believe this is the entire answer. Other proposals should be considered also,' he said. 'But this would be an immediate deterrent. We have air marshals? Why? It's no different.'
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

When the subject of armed guards in schools was raised, as one means to curb violence in schools shootings, Liberals went crazy.
Progressive talk show hosts immediately panned the idea that simply putting armed police officers in schools would stop another Sandy Hook or Columbine.
They argued that there were armed guards in some places where school shootings have occurred and that that didn't stop the tragedies.
Maybe it didn't. To what extent, it could have been worse, we don't know.
But I have a question for the Liberals that believe only getting rid of guns and ammo clips will solve our gun problems, " Are some judges and government employees still killed by guns even with armed guards in front of court houses?"
We put guards in front of these places as a deterrent.
Why wouldn't we do the same in schools?
This isn't a 'this or that solution'. It's an 'all of the above' solution.
I'm a Liberal. I have owned guns. I have several friends that do.
None of them would think of using that gun to do harm to an innocent person.
    Deranged people do that.
But when you cut funding for State mental institutions and let all of those folks out, as New York did recently, it's not going to be a good situation for the general public.
Our government is one of the largest arms dealers in the World.
What do other people in other countries think about what we're doing to them by all of these arms sales?
But it's profitable and war is now peace, or so we've been convinced.
I say, to solve this problem, we do what we can to come to sensible solutions and implement them.
This all needs to me looked at carefully before we'll solve these challenges.
Maybe we should stop glorifying war to our youth. Maybe we show the images of dead children in Pakistan on our news shows so people can see what we do in the name of freedom and peace.
Maybe, we should stop arming the World to the teeth and ask Russia and China to find other ways to make money as well.
People will recognize reasonable solutions and be willing to go along. But until people see our government come clean and address the issues they continue to lie to us about, how can they expect us to trust them on something that may very well take away the ability to defend ourselves from the very government that speaks from both sides of their mouth- depending on how much money you contributed to their campaign?
