APPEAL LAUNCHED FOR 'ANNA' THE FILLY ABANDONED TO DIE ON A MOUNTAIN WHILE HER FOOT ROTTED AWAY!
An APPEAL has been launched by Ελληνικος Συλλογος Προστασιας Ιπποειδων ESPI (The Greek Association for Equine) to buy Anna the 20 year old filly a prosthetic leg as she was found abandoned in the high mountains of Aliveri Evia with her foot rotted away.
Anna who was rescued by Ελληνικος Συλλογος Προστασιας Ιπποειδων ESPI (The Greek Association for Equine) was guided down the mountain to a waiting truck which took her to a special equine facility in Koropi.
ESPI siad
”Slowly and a few meters at a time, because of her condition, the volunteers took Anna down from the mountain and led her to a safe place giving her food, water and antibiotics.
The Greek Association for Equine sent a special truck for transport to bring her to facilities in Koropi. Although the situation is critical we will make every effort so Anna has a normal life without suffering from pain and be able to move. She has a strong desire to live. Her eyes are shining with an intense gaze. This is a tragic story but unfortunately quite common in Greece. Many animals, when they have exhausted working for people, or when sick are abandoned to their fate. Almost all end up alone in the wilderness. There sometimes helpless dying from lack of water and food or become victims of illicit export for slaughter abroad”

”If you know people or even organizations who might want to help us, it is a start! the prosthetic leg for Anna will cost us about €2.800 euros. so we are marching bit by bit to achieve this sum of €2,800. We will update almost weekly about the sum collected! It keeps spirits up!”
