Aafia 10th birthday in solitary confinement vigil light demo at KPC

Aafia Movement held vigil demo at Karachi press club release for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui on the occasion of her 10th birthday in US jail. 10 years too long: another birthday in unjust confinement. Another year of broken promises as Dr. Aafia Siddiqui languishing in an US jail for a crime she did not commit, her support continues to escalate. Her ordeal has provoked horror among humanitarians as basic human right violations continue to mount on this fragile yet resilient woman. How much can one endure? Knowing her innocence the evidence of crimes of her perpetrators is piling up. Crowds gather on Karachi press club to commemorate the 10 birthday of the daughter of the nation. People were chanting slogans mixed emotions were felt. There was love, there was anger, there was grief but most of allow there was a determined will filled with hope. In her telephonic speech, Dr. Fowzia said that the government is losing another very easy option to bring Aafia home where there are no legal hurdles. I do not see how our leaders can face the public for votes when they fail to achieve even this simple goal. Please this once seeks your daughter instead of dollars. Let us revive our honor one signature of the president can bring our sister home, if the will exists.
