CNN PRODUCER NOTE mackeonis manages the Shoreditch Art Wall in London, England. He says the wall is usually commissioned out for movie advertisements, but when Philip emailed him about proposing to his girlfriend of 3 years at the wall, he made an exception. He says Philip came to them with a vision of having his marriage proposal painted on the wall. 'I thought it was such a fabulous idea,' he said.
'He said he is from Shoreditch and his girlfriend is from Shoreditch, and they were both moving back into the area. Ten years ago a lot of people wouldn't want to know what Shoreditch was back in the day because it was a poorer area and associated with Jack the Ripper, but now it is a trendy area and has a good art community,' he explained. The Shoreditch Art Wall put Philip in touch with artists in France who paint the mural in two days. He says Philip loved the end result, and his girlfriend said yes.
'It is a wonderfully romantic idea,' he said. 'England is in a bit of a recession so it is a cheerful story.'

Philip Burton, a resident of Shoreditch, casually walked his fiance, Angela, past the large 4-panel proposal, on a wall that has seen regular adverts for Fox, Disney and Paramount and let the artwork do the talking, which, as the weather is to be typical, saved him going down on one knee on the soaking pavement.
Valentine's Day may have passed, but romance lingered on in Shoreditch on Saturday with the unveiling of a 60 sq. metre marriage proposal. AND, SHE SAID "YES!"
